How long have the Fund Operators been managing funds?

We have been managing our funds since 2013. All distributions have been made according to schedule and no investor principal investment capital has been lost.

Do I have to be an accredited investor to participate in Bequest funds?

Yes, our Reg D fund offerings are structured for accredited investors only. Per SEC, an accredited investor is:

  • Net worth over $1 million, excluding primary residence (individually or with spouse or partner)
  • Income over $200,000 (individually) or $300,000 (with spouse or partner) in each of the prior two years, and reasonably expects the same for the current year

When and how do I receive my preferred returns?

Preferred returns are directly deposited into your account (via ACH) the 1st business day of each month. Investors also have the option to compound the preferred return along with the initial investment and earn a greater overall return over time.

What kind of mortgage notes would I be investing in with this fund?

Our fund is invested in secondary mortgage market notes that are re-performing, which consists of borrowers who are actively making monthly payments to their loan.

What are the risks when investing in mortgage notes?

With any investment opportunity, there are risks. With mortgage notes, the borrower may default on the loan, notes are not covered by the FDIC. We adhere strictly to a 65% investment to value ratio which ensures that we have at least 35% equity coverage on all of our assets.

Can I invest with an IRA or 401k?

Yes, you can invest into Bequest utilizing qualified funds. We have several custodians that can help walk you through the process if you do not have a self-direct account in place.

What is the difference between Class B and Class C participation?

The classes are set up to be able to offer different rates and terms within the same fund.
